Adorei esta cadeira assim que a vi, não conhecia o designer nem a obra...

Concept:

"Pratone is an allegory of a longing for nature which came to the fore during the late 1960s as part of the hippie protest against a glutted consumer society. To create the appearance of a tall patch of grass, the Gruppo Strum had Pratone constructed from cold-foamed polyurethane, painted with green varnish. In contrast to the usual passivity of sitting, the user of this chair has to decide where to take a seat in the sculptural form."

Exposição Temporária - "É proibido proibir" 60's

Hoje depois de uma exaustiva "exploração do terreno"  pelas ruas da Baixa Chiado, resolvi ir dar uma olhadela à nova exposição temporária do MUDE sobre os anos 60. Já tinha passado à porta às 16h e não fiquei indiferente às gigantescas figuras dos emblemáticos Beatles, portanto por volta das 19h entrei...

A exposição não é tão "grandiosa" como os Beatles da porta, mas tem um grande número de peças expostas, tanto a nível de design como moda. Peças estas, únicas, históricas e excelentes representantes do design dos Anos 60. Dou principal destaque à Living Tower de Verner Panton , uma das minhas peças de design favoritas de sempre...

Resumindo: valeu a pena entrar (como vale sempre)

Ser e não ser era exactamente o que o artista plástico Leigh Bowery (1961-1994) ambicionava. Leigh Bowery é o exemplo de como podemos transformar o nosso corpo através do vestuário e de como podemos modificar e recriar uma peça de roupa de infinitas maneiras. Bowery deformava, esticava ou dobrava partes do seu corpo e do vestuário em busca de formas novas e incomuns. Os seus visuais distorcidos através de associações surreais de formas, cortes, cores, proporções, etc., e as composições entre o convencional e a improvisação, arquitectura e animismo são um bom exemplo das suas múltiplas intervenções.

Bowery nasceu em Sunshine, Austrália, a 26 de Março de 1961 e depois de passar por diversas escolas, inclusive de Música, matriculou-se no Royal Melbourne Institut of Tecnology, onde se especializou em Design.

Foi presença marcante dos anos 80, designer de moda, locomotiva da noite londrina, proprietário do clube Taboo, artista performático e cantor, criador da banda punk-retrô Minty e modelo do pintor Lucien Freud.

Constitui forte influência no trabalho de designers como Alexander Mcqueen, Viviene Westwood, John Galliano, e no cenário musical dos anos 80, inspirou Boy George, Marc Almond, entre outros. Neste panorama ainda hoje se sente fortes reflexos da sua influência através de alguns nomes, como Scissor Sisters, Antony and the Johnsons e muitos outros.

"The International Exhibition Expo Zaragoza 2008 was between June 14 and September 14, 2008. The 25 hectares along the river Ebro near Spain’s fifth-largest city, Zarazoga, hosted thematic pavilions and thematic squares plus the pavilions of more than 100 countries, all exploring the overall theme of the Expo, “Water and Sustainable Development.”

Some of favourite Expo mementoes are these spectacular images from the Portuguese Pavilion. Theming the Portuguese participation in the watery event, Lisbon-based Bak Gordon Architects envisioned a river’s ever-changing flow from its trickling source to a river mouth by the sea." The Cool Hunter
